1913: The Rise of Women’s Right

Inspired by Women’s voting rights

In 1913, women get the right to vote on equal terms with men. This makes Norway one of the first independent countries in the world to introduce universal voting rights. Frederik Marie Qvam and Gina Krogh are two of several women at the forefront of the women’s movement. With the rise of women’s importance in society, the department store adapts to the changes in fashion, customer demands and the increased number of women entering the workforce.
