Safety measures at Steen & Strøm Department Store

Steen & Strøm is participating in the national effort involving us all in the demanding time we currently find ourselves in. With a history dating back to 1797, Steen & Strøm has been through a lot. The situation we now find ourselves in is unique, but we will get through it – together.

For it to be as safe as possible to visit Steen & Strøm, we have implemented some safety precautions to ensure the wellbeing of our customer and the employees. It is also important for us to specify that we are up-to-date regarding the situation and that we constantly adapt to the advice and guidelines given by the Norwegian health authorities.

All departments at the Steen & Strøm Department Store have open entrances. This means that you do not have to deal with door handles, one of the sources of contagion. Additional resources are also put in place for continuous disinfection of the remaining door handles, as well as other contact points such as elevator buttons, displays, escalators, sinks and taps in the rest rooms, etc.

Hand disinfectants are placed at the entrances and other strategic locations in the department store. Useful information about good measures during this period is displayed on all screens, and we also have special instructions for how to notify infection. All employees, of course, have to adhere to the current quarantine rules.

The department store has no walls between departments, which contributes to good and spacious areas with little congestion.

As a separate measure, our opening hours are currently reduced to Monday – Friday 12.00 – 17.00, and Saturdays from 11.00-16.00.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many employees who come to work and help to make our everyday life as normal as possible. Of course, all of the employees follow the guidelines given by public health authorities and they are there to help you have a pleasant and safe experience with us.

We generally encourage all visitors to be careful, follow the advice given by the authorities regarding good and frequent hand hygiene, and to keep a close eye on each other. It is important to note that we need to stand together during these difficult times.

We’ve done it before, and we’ll do it again!
